Virgil van Dijk sends message to Liverpool fans after new signing reveal

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk took to social media to celebrate ‘three points’ after their 2-1 Premier League win over Wolves on Sunday (February 16).

The 33-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Liverpool secured an edgy 2-1 Premier League win over Wolves at Anfield.

Winger Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Arne Slot’s side with an unorthodox finish, falling into the ball after a botched clearance from Wolves defender Toti Gomes.

Talismanic forward Mohamed Salah then scored Liverpool’s second, and his 28th of the season, from the penalty spot to secure all three points for the league leaders.

Matheus Cunha pulled one back for Wolves to pave the way for a frenetic finale as Slot’s side held firm to extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate have been sent off for two first-half fouls.

Hackett also suggested that Diogo Jota was lucky not to have received a yellow card following an act of simulation against Wolves.
