Van Dijk, Szoboszlai react to Conor Bradley’s emotional Liverpool message

Conor Bradley got the attention of Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai with a new emotional Liverpool message on social media.

The 21-year-old’s development is likely to be boosted next season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s departure set to hand him more minutes in Arne Slot’s starting lineup.

He has started just five Premier League matches this season, but with three assists across all competitions, those behind the scenes at Anfield are clearly excited about his prospects under the new manager.

Following new Liverpool deals for Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, the Reds are heading into the summer transfer window with a healthy squad, and a brand-new boost has emerged on Merseyside.

Bradley has put pen to paper on a new deal, seeing him extend his spell with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2029 after joining from Dungannon Swifts in 2019.

Arne Slot handed new contract boost at Anfield

Taking to Instagram (17 May), Bradley wrote: “Really proud to continue my journey with Liverpool. Can’t wait for the future together,” signed off with a red love heart.

Van Dijk and Szoboszlai liked the post, being joined by Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez, while Ryan Gravenberch commented: “One Conor Bradley,” with a clapping emoji.

After the news of Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid, fans have been overjoyed to see the young right-back sign a new contract at Anfield.

Speaking to Liverpool News 247, however, Dan Plumley said that Liverpool will “squeeze” Real Madrid if the defender is to leave Merseyside early for the Club World Cup in America.

Liverpool fans move on from Trent Alexander-Arnold already

Football Insider verdict

Glen Johnson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, has suggested that an Anfield return for Alexander-Arnold will be difficult after such an ugly divorce with the passionate fanbase.

With Bradley now securing his future on Merseyside until 2029, though, fans are quickly forgetting about the Real Madrid-bound full-back, and the club already look to be moving on, too.

Football Insider understands that Liverpool have agreed personal terms to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, having been strongly linked with a Premier League move.

The full-backs are extremely important to the Reds’ playing style, even under Slot, but Andy Robertson also looks to be nearing the end of his time on Merseyside after a difficult season in the first team.

The new manager will be left with some difficult decisions to make this summer, with Nunez, Diaz, and Diogo Jota all linked with cut-throat exits, and they could just begin a mass exodus at Anfield.
