Waghorn posts Twitter verdict after Rangers beat Aberdeen, lauds attacking duo

By Will Butcher

Martyn Waghorn has heaped praise on Rangers duo Kenny Miller and Joe Dodoo after both attackers scored in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday.

Miller scored a quick-fire double to break the deadlock late on against Derek McInnes’ side, before former Leicester forward Dodoo came off the bench to secure three points.

Posting on his personal Twitter account, target man Waghorn claimed the fans’ support “was incredible” and revealed he was delighted for his two teammates to find the back of the net.

Miller opened the scoring after pouncing on a loose ball inside Aberdeen’s penalty area, as he lashed home a superb effort into the roof of the net.

The veteran then doubled his tally after sliding home past goalkeeper Joe Lewis in a one-on-one situation, taking his league tally to eight strikes.

Dodoo then scored after coming on as a substitute, cutting inside from the left flank to slam home an effort at Lewis’ near post to earn all three points against the run of the play.

The win sees the Gers close the gap on the Dons to nine points with six games remaining in Scotland’s top flight, as they host Partick in their next outing on Saturday at Ibrox.
