Wan-Bissaka reacts to Niclas Fullkrug in new kit after West Ham exit update

West Ham players including Aaron Wan-Bissaka were quick to show their support on social media after Niclas Fullkrug’s latest update amid mounting speculation over his future.

The Hammers endured a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, finishing 14th in the Premier League with just 43 points.

Julen Lopetegui was sacked earlier in the season following a poor run of form, with Graham Potter appointed as his replacement. However, results remained inconsistent, though Potter did manage to steer the club away from the relegation zone.

One of West Ham’s biggest concerns last season was their lack of firepower up front. Fullkrug’s debut season in East London was disrupted by injuries after his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, limiting his impact.

Speculation has continued to grow around the German international’s future, with reports suggesting West Ham are open to offloading Fullkrug this summer. He is believed to be one of the club’s top earners, and his potential departure could free up funds to reinvest in the squad.

Despite the uncertainty, Fullkrug shared an update on social media showing his focus remains on preparations for the new season.

Niclas Fullkrug poses in new West Ham kit amid transfer speculation

Fullkrug shared an update on Instagram, posing in West Ham’s new home kit for the 2025/26 season, and captioned his post: “New season. New home kit. United By More!”

Plenty of his teammates were quick to react, with Dinos Mavropanos, Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri all showing their support by liking the post.

Despite the positive signs on social media, his future at the London Stadium remains unclear.

The German raised eyebrows last season when Fullkrug publicly criticised his West Ham teammates following a disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom side Southampton.

It remains to be seen whether those comments played a part in the club’s stance, with reports suggesting they are open to moving Fullkrug on after just one year in England.

Mick Brown, the former West Ham chief scout, revealed that West Ham have concerns regarding the fitness of Fullkrug, with the scouts should be asked “serious questions” after his signing.

It appears Fullkrug might not be the only big-name departure from the Hammers this summer.

Football Insider revealed that Tottenham have held fresh talks with West Ham over a deal for Mohamed Kudus in recent days, with all parties said to be keen on reaching an agreement.

West Ham are prepared to sanction Kudus’ sale, with new boss Potter ready to use the funds to reshape the squad ahead of his first full season in charge.
