Wan-Bissaka reacts to Niclas Fullkrug’s ‘ready’ message after ‘West Ham decision’

West Ham teammates were quick to respond to Niclas Fullkrug’s determined message on social media amid growing uncertainty over his future.

West Ham endured a difficult campaign last season, marked by change and inconsistency, with Graham Potter replacing Julen Lopetegui and the side ultimately finishing 14th in the Premier League.

A major issue throughout the season was the team’s lack of goals, with Fullkrug struggling to make an impact. Fullkrug was hampered by multiple injuries and managed just three goals following his move from Borussia Dortmund.

As a result, speculation has intensified over his future at the club. West Ham are reportedly open to selling Fullkrug this summer, particularly as he is believed to be one of the highest earners at the London Stadium.

Additionally, the Hammers look like they have also made a decision regarding their attacking woes, as West Ham are eyeing a move for Sassuolo forward Andrea Pinamonti in a bid to strengthen their frontline.

Despite the speculation, Fullkrug shared a defiant update with supporters on social media, prompting a wave of reactions from his teammates.

West Ham stars respond to Niclas Fullkrug message amid doubts over future

Fullkrug shared a series of pre-season images on Instagram as West Ham prepare for the upcoming campaign.

He captioned the post: “Ready for the road!” ahead of the team’s first pre-season fixture, which sees them face Grasshopper Club Zürich on 19 July.

The update was met with plenty of reactions from teammates, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Emerson Palmieri and Dinos Mavropanos all liking the post.

Despite signs of unity within the squad, the German’s future at the club remains uncertain following a challenging debut season.

The striker appeared to cause friction earlier in the year when Fullkrug publicly criticised his West Ham teammates after a disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom-placed Southampton.

It’s unclear whether those comments contributed to the growing speculation around his future, but West Ham are understood to have concerns over Fullkrug’s fitness and availability.

As the club continue to explore attacking reinforcements, potentially paving the way for Fullkrug’s exit, they have also turned their attention to bolstering the flanks.

Reports suggest West Ham have joined the race for Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier, who is valued at around £30million by the Cherries.

With the departure of Mohammed Kudus, West Ham are actively searching for wide options, but may need to move quickly with Besiktas and Fenerbahce also reportedly showing strong interest.
