Waste of money: Why Tottenham should ditch January bid for attacker
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Tottenham should forget their plans to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in January and give Georges-Kevin N’Koudou the chance to shine.
The Daily Star report that Spurs are eyeing a £25million deal for Zaha as they try to sign the long-term admirer of manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The north London club should scrap plans to spend big money in January as they would be wasting their money.
Zaha is currently in the form of life for Palace and has directly contributed to 11 goals in 18 appearances this season, but the 24-year-old has shown during his career how inconsistent he can be.
Spurs need to take a closer look at their own squad and they will see youngster N’Koudou desperate to make an impact.

The 21-year-old completed a move to White Hart Lane in the summer and is yet to be given a fair opportunity in the first team.
He has started just one of his 10 appearances so far for Spurs and has not been fully exploited by Pochettino.
Spurs are reportedly interested in Zaha to add some extra pace and creativity to their squad, but they may not have to spend £25million to do so.
N’Koudou has excited supporters off the bench with his lightning speed and could give Spurs the extra bit of attacking threat.
The Frenchman is a traditional winger and could provide great support for striker Harry Kane if given the chance.
He showed at his former club Marseille that he has the ability to trouble defences, scoring 10 goals and supplying five assists in 41 appearances.
In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has warned his players of a dangerous opponent against Southampton.
