The result means that the Hoops have further opened their gap at the top of the SPL table and are now well on course to win the title in record fashion.
They have not been beaten domestically this season, while they have also secured an impressive 26 wins from 27 games which has seen them lead the table by 27 points.
Furthermore, the Glasgow giants now have the opportunity to secure a domestic treble under Rodgers who is in his first season in charge of the club.
Added to their Scottish League Cup triumph earlier on in the campaign, they can add the SPL and Scottish Cup to their name.
Rodgers side will host Championship club St Mirren in the quarter final stages of the Scottish Cup at the weekend.
