Medical expert: Cucho Hernandez’s season is over amid ‘serious’ Watford news – ‘I feel for him’

Cucho Hernandez will not play for Watford again this serious after he sustained a “serious” hamstring injury.

That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.

Hernandez, 23, has not featured since he was forced off in Watford’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds United earlier this month (9 April).

As quoted by the Watford Observer last Friday (15 April), Roy Hodgson claimed that the Colombian forward will be out for a “considerable period”.

The Hornets boss also explained that it is touch-and-go as to whether Hernandez will return before the end of the season.

Dinnery admitted that he is not optimistic that the attacker will play again in 2021-22.

Reading between the lines, he’s not a player I’d expect to see back this season,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“I do feel for him as he’d had a run of starts and it can take a considerable time to come back from.

“He has kept the likes of Joao Pedro and Josh King out of the team, but it looks as though that’s over.

“It’s a real shame for him because it’s probably his last Premier League involvement too.”

Hernadez has scored five goals and supplied three assists in 27 appearances this term.

Watford, who are seven points from safety with just six games to go, travel to league leaders Man City tomorrow (23 April).
