Watkins and Ramsey react to Bailey’s 2-word message amid potential Aston Villa exit
Leon Bailey has taken to social media to provide a new update on his situation, prompting a response from Aston Villa teammates such as Ollie Watkins and Jacob Ramsey.
Although Unai Emery‘s side won plenty more plaudits for their performances during the 2024/25 campaign, Bailey struggled from an individual perspective.
The winger fell down the pecking order with the Villains, and did not always make the required impact when he got on the pitch.
As a result, Football Insider understands that Aston Villa are willing to sell Bailey with the transfer window now open once again.

Leon Bailey away on international duty
Amid that uncertainty around a potential summer transfer at club level, the 27-year-old also has other issues to focus on.
Bailey is currently away on international duty with Jamaica, as his busy schedule on the pitch continues beyond the end of the club campaign.
The Aston Villa winger and his national team are set to begin their Gold Cup campaign overnight on Tuesday morning (17 June), with a group stage match against Guatemala.
Looking ahead to that game with a message on his Instagram story, Bailey shared a series of images from Jamaica training, along with a caption that read: “Go time”.
In response, a number of Aston Villa players including Watkins, Ramsey, Youri Tielemans, and Morgan Rogers all showed their support by liking that post.
Aston Villa have other transfer issues to deal with
Football Insider Verdict
Having controversially failed to qualify for the Champions League this season, Unai Emery’s side have missed out on a major financial windfall.
Selling the likes of Bailey who look to have fallen out of favour to make up for that therefore seems sensible, although other sales beyond that may also be needed.
Arsenal had a bid rejected for Watkins back in January, and the centre-forward’s proven experience and quality at this level make him an appealing target for numerous clubs.
Meanwhile, West Ham are among the teams to have been credited with an interest in Ramsey amid concerns over the Viallains PSR situation following their European frustration.
This could therefore be a tough window for Aston Villa, which they will desperate to come out of with a squad that can still take the club forward.
