Wayne Rooney slams Man United and makes ‘incredible’ Crystal Palace comparison

Man United should be looking at Crystal Palace in one department after the Eagles continued their fine start to the season.

Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win over Liverpool means Oliver Glasner’s side are the only Premier League team yet to lose a game this season.

Meanwhile, Man United’s 3-1 defeat at Brentford means the Red Devils have won just twice in six matches and sit 14th in the standings.

Ruben Amorim could face the sack at Man United if results and performances do not improve soon, but there are no such worries at Selhurst Park for Glasner.

Wayne Rooney amazed at Crystal Palace as he makes brutal Man United comparison

Man United and Crystal Palace both play a 3-4-2-1 formation, which is thriving under Glasner but not working for Amorim.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, [29 September], the former Premier League striker can’t believe the difference between the two sides despite playing in the same system.

I don’t want to go back to Man United but I’m watching Crystal Palace play three at the back and this looks incredible, look’s brilliant,” Rooney said.

There’s flair, there’s fight, there’s desire, there’s crosses coming into the box, there’s shots there’s tackles going in, there’s everything you want to see then when I watch Man United in the same system I’m like, what is this?

Crystal Palace’s victory over Liverpool was fully deserved, with their first half performance particularly showing how effective Glasner’s team can be.

Ruben Amorim on brink of sack unless he learns off Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace’s unbeaten streak stretches back to April when Newcastle thrashed the Eagles 5-0 at St James’ Park.

Since then, Crystal Palace have remained unbeaten against the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Glasner has players to fit the system, with defenders comfortable playing in a back three, natural wing-backs and box-to-box midfielders.

Despite two transfer windows, Amorim has yet to fix the balance of his team and has not recruited the right players for his system.

Amorim has not switched from this formation despite Man United’s poor run of results, and it looks set to cost him his job.
