‘We need to have a serious discussion’ – Liverpool fans tear into Luis Diaz after performance in 0-0 draw v Man United

Liverpool fans can’t believe how bad Luiz Diaz was in their goalless Premier League draw against Man United on Sunday.

The Colombian wide forward, 26, got the nod to start the titanic clash but struggled to make an impact and was withdrawn after 78 minutes.

On a day when Liverpool dominated the play but were toothless in the final third and moves kept breaking down at the feet of the attacking player, none were worse than Diaz.

He failed to complete a single successful dribble and was comfortably nullified in his left flank role by a combination of Diago Dalot and Antony.

Liverpool attempted 34 shots in this goalless draw, their most in a Premier League game on record in which they failed to score since 2003-04.

Overall, it was the most shots by a team without scoring in a match in the competition since Man United’s 38 v Burnley in October 2016.

The response of Liverpool fans was savage towards Diaz, who has failed to score or assist in the team’s last six Premier League matches.

Indeed, he has not produced a league assist this season and his only league goal since his early season pair against Chelsea and Bournemouth came with the late equaliser at Luton Town in October.
