‘We prepare’ – Emi Martinez reacts to Alexis Mac Allister’s message amid Man United interest
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez could be on the move this summer with Manchester United and Chelsea interested in the Argentine.
Martinez has became one of the world’s best goalkeepers in recent seasons following his switch to Aston Villa from Arsenal in 2020.
The 32-year-old has played a key part in Unai Emery’s success at the club, with the Spaniard taking Villa back into the Champions League in 2024.
Villa though have not qualified for Europe’s premier competition next season which has meant a blow to their finances amid PSR issues meaning some stars, including Martinez, could leave.
Mac Allister shares Liverpool update
Martinez’s Argentina team mate Alexis Mac Allister has sent out a ‘we prepare’ message, which was liked by the goalkeeper.
Mac Allister took to Instagram following Liverpool’s latest pre-season victory over Japanese club Yokohama.
The midfielder said he was “happy to be back with the team,” in a match that saw Florian Wirtz net his first goal for the club in the 3-1 win.
Martinez future remains undecided

Martinez’s career was revitalised when he moved to Villa Park and now the goalkeeper is wanted by some of the world’s biggest club’s.
His inspired shot stopping and big personality has been a hit at Villa, and his arrival at Manchester United or Chelsea would instantly tighten up their defences.

Like with many of Villa’s stars this summer though, the club will not want to sell unless the price is right.
United have been hit to an injury to number one Andre Onana which could speed up their pursuit of Martinez and it was one position manager Ruben Amorim wanted to upgrade in.
Chelsea want to also replace their goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, whose high profile errors cost the Blues valuable points last season.
The Club World Cup champions have upgraded their strike force and the addition of Martinez could make them into title contenders.
Villa are already in negotiations with Chelsea over striker Nicolas Jackson and the Blues want Morgan Rogers from Emery’s side.
Jackson and defender Tosin Adarabioyo have been included in a swap deal for Rogers so there could plenty of activity between the two club’s before the end of the window.
