Wenger: Arsenal eliminated Man City because we were great in these two areas

Arsene Wenger claims that his Arsenal side have answered their critics with a great mental and technnical display to defeat Manchester City to reach the FA Cup final.
Goals from Nacho Monreal and Alexis Sanchez were enough to secure a 2-1 victory over City at Wembley in their semi-final clash, to reach a record 20th final where they will face Chelsea.
Sergio Aguero had given the Sky Blues the lead but the Gunners showed a sense of resilience to come back, Sanchez grabbing the winner with a close range finish in extra time.
Arsenal, and in particular boss Arsene Wenger, have come under criticism from some sections of their own fans after disappointing displays in the Champions League, where they were knocked out 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich, and the Premier League, where they currently sit seventh.
However, Wenger believes that earning their place in the FA Cup final will have silenced some of the critics that have been vocal over the past few months.

After the game, he said to BBC Sport: “People have questioned us a lot recently.
“In this difficult time, you can be divided, which is the natural inclination, or you can be united.
“Today we have shown the right response, that we are capable to be together.”
The French manager, who has been at the helm of the Gunners for 21 years, also praised the mental resilience of his side, which he believes was crucial not just for securing victory in the semi-final, but for the rest of the season ahead.
“We produced a great performance, not just technically but mentally,” he told BBC Sport.
“When you are at Arsenal, you want your club to show up in big games and show that you have the mental level to be there.
“I think we’ve done that today, so overall I’m very pleased.”
