James McClean takes swipe at Rangers as they are thumped by Celtic
West Brom and Ireland winger James McClean has taken a swipe at Rangers after they crumbled to a 5-0 defeat against Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday afternoon.
Brendan Rodgers’ side sealed their seventh Scottish Premiership title in a row by seeing off the Light Blues with ease this weekend.
Odsonne Edouard bagged a brace and James Forrest score his first-ever Old Firm goal in the first-half before Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor got in on the act after the break.
Celtic-mad McClean – who has previously made public his desire to play for the Bhoys one day – took to his personal Instagram account during the derby game on Saturday and couldn’t help but aim a dig at the Gers.
“Stop it they are dead already,” the Derry-born winger said on his Instagram story after Edouard scored his second goal.
McClean will surely be on a high this weekend after he was instrumental in West Brom beating Newcastle United 1-0 on Saturday before watching his beloved Hoops demolish their bitter rivals to win the league title.

Football Insider verdict
McClean is 100 per cent sure that he wants to play for Celtic before his career ends, but it seems that a lot of the fanbase are split about him. If it’s quality they are concerned about then fans need to realise that McClean has had more of a top-flight career in England that Scott Sinclair did. He can also play at left-back and may be a good back-up option to Kieran Tierney. The main concern seems to be about how much abuse he would get from the other side of Glasgow and if it would even be worth signing him. He could cause more trouble than it’s worth.
