Medical expert can’t believe ‘strange’ Moyes claim about West Ham’s Kral ‘gamble’
West Ham players like Alex Kral are taking a Covid “gamble” every time they go away with their national sides.
That is according to injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Kral, a £25million summer signing from Spartak Moscow, has missed the Hammers’ last two matches after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been absent since he returned from international duty with the Czech Republic.
As quoted by football.london on 17 October, David Moyes said it was “strange” that Kral had returned a positive test despite having the vaccine.
But Dinnery is less surprised to see players who have had jab fall ill.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “Even with the protocols in place, there are still outbreaks and players testing positive.
“The difficulty for managers around the international break is players are leaving their bubble to join up with their national team.
“Whether those levels of protocol are the same, you can never quite tell. So it’s always going to be a major gamble.
“Unfortunately, this is ultimately out of their control. It’s just one of those things we are going to have to learn to live with.
“I didn’t really understand David Moyes’ comments. Is he saying it’s ‘strange’ because he’s had the jab?

“After all, we know there are numerous cases of players who are double vaccinated and still come back positive.
“We know it minimises the risk of transmission, but it isn’t a vaccine that makes you 100 per cent immune.”
