Agbonlahor drops two huge West Ham claims

West Ham will qualify for the Champions League this year and David Moyes will be named manager of the season.

The two huge claims were made by ex-Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Irons’ 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Monday.

That result briefly moved Moyes’ side into the top-four until Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Newcastle later in the evening.

The Hammers remain outside the Champions League places only on goal difference and fans are beginning to dream of what would be an astonishing first-ever appearance in the competition.

Agbonlahor predicts that West Ham will achieve a sensational top-four finish and that Moyes would fully deserve being named Manager of the Season.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “He’s a candidate for manager of the year, 100%. The way they’re playing at the moment, they’ve got every chance of getting to the top-four.

“I quite fancy them to do it. They’ve been outstanding all season. If David Moyes was a foreign manager, he’d be getting a lot more credit than he is doing at the moment.

“We need to give him the praise he deserves and make sure his achievements aren’t going unnoticed because West Ham have been fantastic.”

West Ham are yet to compete in either the European Cup or the Champions League in their near-126-year history.

The club’s greatest success on the European stage came in 1965 when they won the Cup Winners’ Cup at Wembley.

In other news, West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan are prepared to listen to offers for the club but only if their £600million valuation is met.
