West Ham board in new behind-the-scenes blunder after official paperwork filed

West Ham’s board are under increasing pressure following another extremely disappointing campaign at the London Stadium.

West Ham secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Tottenham last weekend, with Callum Wilson grabbing an injury-time winner in north London.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are still five points from safety in the Premier League relegation zone.

West Ham fans have protested against the board in recent months, with calls for David Sullivan – the club’s largest shareholder – and vice-chair Karren Brady to leave.

While the on-field results have played a part in the ill feeling among the supporters, Hammers chiefs have faced criticism since the club made the controversial move to the London Stadium in 2016.

Karren Brady ally has left West Ham after termination revealed

It was confirmed last month Tara Warren has left West Ham, having spent 16 years with the club across multiple different roles.

Warren, who is understood to have been a close ally of Brady during her time in east London, had most recently been operating as an executive director for the Hammers.

It initially appeared on Tuesday (20 January) as though more senior figures were leaving West Ham’s hierarchy after documents were revealed on Companies House.

WH Holding Limited – the club’s parent company – filed paperwork showing David Sullivan Jr and Jiri Svarc’s positions as directors had been terminated.

However, the pair were re-appointed as directors that same day, raising questions around what’s gone on at the London Stadium.

Why West Ham filed documents confirming director change

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone has moved to clear up the matter, reporting on Friday (23 January) that Sullivan Jr’s middle names were the wrong way around in the initial document, while Svarc’s date of birth was incorrect.

“Apparently, it is quicker to terminate and re-appoint than amend directors’ details records online,” said Whetstone.

Sullivan Jr has been a West Ham director since November 2021, while Svarc was appointed by co-owner Daniel Kretinsky in August 2022.

Alongside Sullivan and Brady, the Hammers’ website lists Vanessa Gold, Daniel Harris, Andrew Mollett, Albert “Tripp” Smith and Nathan Thompson as board members.

Meanwhile, Kretinsky, Sullivan Jr, Svarc, Jack Sullivan and Dan Cunningham are directors of WH Holding Limited.

The focus at the London Stadium is on doing everything they can to avoid relegation, with West Ham at risk of losing more than £60million in revenue if they drop down to the Championship.

Nuno is now preparing his side to take on Sunderland at home on Saturday (24 January).
