Report states West Ham braced for £30m transfer after massive Karren Brady dig
By Harry Sykes
West Ham are braced for fresh £30million-plus interest in Andy Carroll this summer, according to a report.
The Mirror claim that the Hammers expect cash-rich Chinese clubs will make new moves to sign the former England striker in the next window.
It is said that three teams – Tianjin Quanjian, Hebei China Fortune and Shandong Luneng – were all prepared to pay around £32million to prise Carroll from West Ham before the Chinese window shut last week.
They are ready to reignite moves for the 28-year-old in the summer amid doubts about his future at the London Stadium.
Carroll has two years remaining on his 100,000-a-week contract but club chiefs have made no attempt to hide their frustration at his injury record.

Vice-chairman Karren Brady summed up the feelings in the boardroom last week when she had a thinly veiled dig at the fitness of the big front man and compared him unfavourably to Michail Antonio, who had been a virtual ever-present this season until suspension ruled him out of Monday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
“Antonio replaced Andy Carroll as leader of the line and it is a prayer of mine that Carroll should stop straining his groin or anything else and acquire some of his team-mate’s seeming immunity to injury,” said Brady in her Sun column.
Football Insider verdict:
It is a statement of the bleedingly obvious, but West Ham chiefs should bite the hands off any club daft enough to pay £30million for a one-dimensional striker who can’t stay fit for more than a month. Carroll’s aerial prowess and solid technique make him seductive, but the reality is he does not have the professionalism and lifestyle to go with it. If he did, he would not suffer an endless stream of niggling injuries that have prevented him from ever realising his considerable potential. West Ham are best off cashing in and investing in an emerging striker who does not only know where the goal is but can also rack up more than 20 games a season.
In other West Ham transfer news, Brady has revealed she “loves” this Tottenham player for not covering his body in tattoos.
