West Ham expert backs Pablo Fornals move after source’s reveal – ‘Accept the offer’

West Ham United should “take the money” for Pablo Fornals amid interest in a January move.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie was baffled as to why David Moyes isn’t playing the 27-year-old.

As revealed by Football Insider (4 December), there is a potential for the attacking midfielder to leave the London Stadium in the upcoming January transfer and West Ham would be ready to accept an offer.

Sources also told Football Insider (7 December) that he is being monitored by Premier League, Saudi Pro League and Spanish clubs for a winter move.

Fornals’ contract expires at the end of the season and he has struggled for game time this campaign with just 168 minutes of league action.

With the likes of Mohammed Kudus and James Ward-Prowse entering the fray this summer in Stratford and taking up minutes in midfield, McAvennie feels his time is up at the club as he will be eager to play.

“I think he will go,” he told Football Insider.

“I like the boy and I don’t know why Moyes doesn’t want to play Fornals.

“He’s not done well for a couple of games but there’s not many players that have played very well in a while.

“Tomas Soucek was hopeless, but they kept him in the side and now he’s brilliant.

“I’d take the money and accept the offer. He’ll want to go and play somewhere because he’s not getting a game.

“Thanks very much for what you’ve given us, but no one wants to sit on the bench.”
