West Ham expert drops ‘huge’ Jarrod Bowen prediction after injury update
West Ham United will “cope” without Jarrod Bowen following his fresh injury blow.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie noted that David Moyes’ side managed during Mohammed Kudus’ and Lucas Paqueta’s spells away and can do the same without Bowen, 27.
It was confirmed that the England international will miss West Ham’s crucial Europa League quarter-final first-leg against expected Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night (11 April).
He was forced off early in the second half during the Irons’ 2-1 win against Wolves on Saturday (6 April) with a hip injury and subsequent scans reportedly revealed that the injury was worse than initially expected.

Bowen has been in scintillating form for the Hammers this season having bagged 19 goals and eight assists in all competitions and his absence for the European showdown has worried fans.
However, McAvennie claimed that the winger could benefit from a few weeks of rest and did not expect him to be sidelined for too long.
“When Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta were injured, we coped,” he told Football Insider.
“We will miss him because he’s a huge player to have in the team.
“He’s great upfront or wherever he plays.
“I’m hoping it won’t be too long – maybe just one or two games.

“He’ll be back soon and it might do him good to have a few weeks rest.
“I wish him a speedy recovery because everything has gone in his favour.”
