West Ham fans explode at Lucas Paqueta bombshell

West Ham fans are outraged by Lucas Paqueta with the midfielder intent on a move away from the club.

Over the summer Paqueta was linked to the likes of Man City with a transfer seemingly imminent.

A move never materialised with the arrival of Mateus Fernandes from Southampton supposed to allow Paqueta to leave West Ham.

Paqueta had also been touted to join Aston Villa yet ultimately stayed in east London even amid the disarray at the club under Graham Potter and now Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham fans furious with Paqueta as he goes back on his word of staying at the club

According to a report from The Times (28 October), it has emerged that the Brazilian is keen to leave the Hammers in January given their current relegation form.

The 28-year-old is contracted to the club until June 2027 but, with an eye on the 2026 World Cup, is now considering a step up to ensure his spot on the plane.

Irons supporters have lashed out at the number 10 over his potential exit from the club, with one fan saying: “Ok so Paqueta wants to leave in January…he’s been awful for ages now, offers absolutely nothing. So Nuno do the right thing and bench him, he’s not deserving of a start.”

Continuing to be upset by the news, another supporter said: “whole time Paqueta just didn’t want to play [at West Ham].” with another Hammer adding: “Paqueta has been bad for ages, gets dispossessed too easy, goes down too easy, plays the straight ball into the box far too often, and he’s a media darling.”

In his fourth season at the club, the ex-Lyon man has clearly infuriated the West Ham faithful, with another supporter questioning his respect for the club before arriving, stating: “doubt he had even heard of West Ham until he moved to Europe.”

Newcastle and Chelsea amongst clubs who both need Paqueta

If the Brazil international is to leave the London Stadium in January, the easiest move to make would be to stay in the English top-flight.

Football Insider tipped Newcastle to go after Paqueta following the increasing difficulties in bring Elliot Anderson back from Nottingham Forest.

The 28-year-old would be reunited with Lyon teammate Bruno Guimaraes and the pair could form a deadly partnership in the middle of the park.

Conversely, if Enzo Fernandez is to be torn away by Real Madrid, Chelsea could also see Paqueta as an ideal replacement.

The ex-AC Milan playmaker would only need to cross to the other side of London and would link up with compatriots Joao Pedro, Andrey Santos and Estevao.
