West Ham fans fume at Lucas Paqueta as his ‘disgraceful’ stats emerge from Palace defeat

West Ham United fans have slaughtered Lucas Paqueta for his “absolutely dreadful” performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon (21 April).

The Eagles romped to an emphatic 5-2 victory at Selhurst Park, with Michail Antonio’s 40th-minute strike and a huge own goal from Palace shot-stopper Dean Henderson doing little to counter a brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta, goals from Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise and an own goal from Emerson Palmieri.

However, Hammers supporters have honed in on Paqueta, 26, for failing to have a direct impact on the clash and giving another subpar performance.

Across the 90 minutes, the Brazilian managed just 28 passes, one key pass, failed to have a single shot, made no successful dribbles and lost possession a staggering 24 times.

Lucas Paqueta a ‘disgrace’ in West Ham humiliation v Palace

His recent outings have been widely blasted by increasingly frustrated West Ham fans, who haven’t seen a win in their last four games in all competitions and recently crashed out of the Europa League.

Paqueta has been linked with a mega-money move to Man City, with Football Insider revealing (31 March) that the Citizens “will return” with a bid for the midfielder this summer.

In light of his latest performance, fans have taken to social media to bash him, and many are now happy for the Hammers to sanction his departure.

In other news, David Moyes now “likely” to leave West Ham.
