West Ham fans react on Twitter to Payet display v Liverpool
By Will Butcher
West Ham fans on Twitter believe the old Dimitri Payet is back after the Frenchman scored a wonderful free-kick against Liverpool.
The 29-year-old starred during Sunday’s clash at Anfield, which saw the former Marseille man produce an equaliser to Adam Lallana’s early goal.
Centre of the goal, Payet curled a free-kick past German goalkeeper Loris Karius, who will be disappointed that he could not keep the ball out of the net despite getting a hand on the shot.
West Ham went 2-1 up through Michail Antonio, but were pegged back by Divock Origi after Darren Randolph had dropped the ball at his feet right at the start of the second half.
West Ham fans reacted on Twitter to the performance of Payet, with some claiming that the old Payet is back for the Hammers after struggling to replicate last season’s amazing form.

Payet has been named on the Ballon d’Or shortlist after a dazzling first season in the Premier League last term saw him score 15 times and provide another 17 in assists.
However, it is yet to click for the France international this season. But his goal and performance against the Reds could be the start of a return to the form that warmed the Hammers fans hearts last season.
In other West Ham news, Mark Noble should achieve this after starring against Liverpool.
