West Ham fans rage on Twitter at referee performance v West Brom
By Danny Wright
It’s fair to say that West Ham supporters were less than pleased with the performance of referee Michael Oliver in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion’s
Hammers fans allege that there was a foul in the build-up to Albion’s first goal.
They also believe that Sofiane Feghouli’s disallowed goal should have stood and that they should have been awarded a throw-in during the build up to West Brom’s equaliser in the dying moments.
Manager Slaven Bilic was caught by television cameras slamming a microphone into the ground when Gareth McAuley scored the 94th minute leveller and was subsequently sent off.
He also had some harsh words in his post-match interview where he labelled Oliver’s performance as “awful”.
Here is a selection of Twitter posts by West Ham fans:
West Ham fans felt most aggrieved when Feghouli’s goal was disallowed for offside.
The Algerian was not offside, although Michael Antonio appeared to shove Albion keeper Ben Foster whilst in an offside position as the shot was taken.
Replays also appeared to show that Bilic was wrong to think his side should have had a throw-in at the end as the ball appeared to clip Antonio, then pass through the legs of Craig Dawson before it went out.
However the West Ham fans still feel as though they have been robbed and slipped down a place in the Premier League standings.
