'Bin him off ASAP' - West Ham fans react on Twitter to latest injury news

By Danny Wright

West Ham fans are urging the club to sell Andy Carroll after Slaven Bilic ruled him out of Saturday’s clash with Stoke.

Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, the Hammers boss confirmed that the striker will not take part in this weekend’s trip to the Bet365 Stadium after missing the goalless draw with Everton.

Owner David Gold on Sunday said that the 28-year-old will be able to take part in the visit to the Potteries. However the Hammers’ official Twitter account quoted Bilic as saying that the game has come too soon for him to return.

Carroll’s season has been plagued by injury, and the latest update will come as no surprise to most fans as his career has been littered with various spells on the sidelines.

He has been suffering with a recurring groin strain since February and has already missed 18 matches in all competitions for the Irons this term.

When he has played, he has still emerged as one of the London club’s key players, with seven goals in 18 league appearances.

However West Ham fans aren’t happy about the latest news on Twitter and they have lost patience with the injury-prone target man.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Carroll has been at West Ham since his 2013 switch from Liverpool.

He has made a total of 114 appearances and scored 30 for the Irons, but many fans don;t think he’ll be adding to that tally.

In other West Ham news, Bilic has revealed a huge midfield boost for the club against Stoke.
