West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate played 90 minutes in the victory against Hull on Saturday – and the club’s supporters were delighted with his performance on Twitter.
The 26-year-old played at centre-back in the 1-0 victory as the Hammers kept a second consecutive clean sheet and captain Mork Noble scored the winning goal from the penalty spot.
The Senegal international is extremely versatile and can play in defence or midfield, with Slaven Bilic using him at both centre-back and right-back during the Hull victory.
He is a defensive midfielder by trade and could return to the position in the next game against Hull as Pedro Obiang will serve a one-game suspension.
West Ham fans were thrilled with Kouyate’s performance in the scrappy win against Hull and believe he was their standout player on the pitch.

Kouyate has been a regular in Bilic’s side this seaosn and one of the most consistent performers in a struggling side.
The Hammers moved up to 13th in the Premier League table after another three points, but were expected to challenge for a European spot and have under achieved.
Kouyate has managed to keep his own individual levels high this campaign and made 20 appearances across all competitions.
He has now made 99 appearances for West Ham since he joined from Anderlecht in 2014 and has scored 12 goals in that time.
