By Will Butcher

West Ham fans are revelling on Twitter in the news that Michail Antonio is set to reportedly sign a new five-year deal worth £18.2million.

The Guardian claimed that Antonio will pen a lucrative contract that will see his pay double to £70,000-a-week, as the Hammers look set to lose star player Dimitri Payet.

Earlier this month, The Times claimed that rivals Chelsea had shortlisted Antonio as a target, but he is now expected to sign on the dotted line to keep him in east London until 2021.

The former Reading and Southampton ace has been in fabulous form for this term, remaining at the top of his side’s goalscoring charts with eight strikes in just 20 Premier League outings.

West Ham fans reacted with delight on Twitter after learning of Antonio’s potential new deal. Some fans claimed that he should be offered as much as Payet, with the Guardian revealing that Payet is paid £125,000 a week.
