West Ham fans react on Twitter to Nordtveit display v Liverpool
By Will Butcher
West Ham fans reacted with surprise on Twitter as Havard Nordtveit impressed during the Hammers’ 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
The 26-year-old was given a chance back in the Hammers first team, starting his first Premier League game since September 25 out of position at right-back.
With Sam Byram and Alvaro Arbeloa both sidelined, the Norway international was handed a start and took it with aplomb as he kept Roberto Firmino quiet on the left flank.
Signed from Borussia Monchengladbach, Nordtveit had struggled for form with the Hammers, as he failed to earn his place back in the middle of the West Ham midfield.
West Ham fans were shocked on Twitter to see their summer signing impressing for Slaven Bilic’s side, with some amazed that he provided that assist for Michail Antonio’s goal.

For all the stick Nordtveit got before the game I thought he actually did okay. Looked shaky occasionaly but filled in well. Credit to him ⚒

Nordtveit, who came through the ranks at Arsenal, played for Gladbach for five years in which he made 172 appearances for the German outfit.
This season, West Ham’s number four has made 10 league and cup appearances for the Hammers as he looks to win his place back in the side in his natural position of holding midfield.
