Fernandes moved to the London Stadium from Swiss outfit FC Sion in the summer for £5.5million.
He has made five appearances for Slaven Bilic’s team and his goal against Chelsea marked the first goal in his Hammers career.
Fans of the club will now be hoping for more performances similar from the youngster following their poor start to the Premier League campaign.
They currently sit in 15th place in the table, but Wednesday’s victory has marked their third win in four games in all competitions with a clash against Everton coming up on Sunday.
