West Ham fans rip into Lucas Paqueta after what he did v Bayer Leverkusen
West Ham fans have slammed midfielder Lucas Paqueta after his first-half yellow card in the 2-0 Europa League quarter-final first-leg defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday (11 April).
Paqueta went into the book after just 21 minutes for a reckless kick out at Amine Adli after being dispossessed.
The Brazil international has now racked up three Europa League bookings and will miss the second leg against Leverkusen at the London Stadium next week.
Left-back Emerson Palmieri will also miss the return clash after picking up a caution in the second half.
David Moyes’ side will miss Paqueta’s influence in midfield with the former Lyon star notching eight goals and seven assists across 36 appearances in all competitions this season.
West Ham fans fume at Paqueta after 2-0 Leverkusen defeat
The midfielder could be playing his final matches at West Ham, with Football Insider revealing (31 March) that Man City “will return” with a bid this summer after their previous agreement collapsed.
But for now, Irons fans are furious with the midfielder’s discipline – with one supporter even branding him a “moron”.
