West Ham fans react on Twitter to Zaza display against Real Madrid

By Danny Wright

West Ham fans have took to Twitter to express their disbelief as Simone Zaza scored a screamer in a 2-1 win for Valencia against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.

The Hammers flop took just five minutes to open the scoring while playing for his new club against the La Liga leaders in a Primera Division encounter.

He took the ball out of the air and managed to strike a half-volley while on the turn into the corner of the net.

West Ham signed the Juventus striker on loan in the summer but after 11 appearances and no goals to his name he was returned to his parent club in January.

Valencia took the 25-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season and he has now scored in back-to-back matches after opening his account for the Spanish side against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Zaza is no stranger to going viral on social media when he was made infamous for missing a penalty against Germany at Euro 2016 after a strange run up.

He failed to make much of an impression for Juventus last season but still managed eight goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
