West Ham fans tear into Frank Lampard after unexpected Jeff Stelling claim

West Ham fans aren’t interested in having former player Frank Lampard join the club should they decide to part ways with Julen Lopetegui.

The East London club sit in 14th with three wins, two draws, and five defeats from their opening ten Premier League games after a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (November 2).

Football Insider revealed (November 4) that Lopetegui, 58, is now in a volatile situation at the club as pressure grows on his position at the club.

Speaking on TalkSPORT’s morning show, legendary pundit Jeff Stelling believes Frank Lampard, 46, should be given a chance at his former club.

“I didn’t mention Moyes at all. I’m going to mention someone who might divide opinions.

“Is it time, if Lopetegui goes, for West Ham to bring Frank Lampard home? Just a thought.

“He is available. He’s been mentioned in connection with the Roma job, but West Ham would be ideal for him.”

West Ham fans unconvinced by Frank Lampard

Lampard, who came through the Hammers’ academy, left the club for London rivals Chelsea where he went on to win three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and a Champions League among others.

His time as a manager has been less successful, however, earning just a nine per cent win rate when he became Chelsea’s interim manager at the back end of the 2022-23 season.
