West Ham fans will be livid after transfer update – ‘I’m questioning Graham Potter’
Graham Potter’s transfer strategy at West Ham has been questioned following the club’s latest moves in the market.
The Hammers are coming off the back of a disappointing season in the Premier League, finishing 14th with just 43 points.
It is a summer of change for the East London side as they look to improve ahead of the upcoming campaign, with the likes of Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal, and Lukasz Fabianski leaving the club.
West Ham have also lost Mohammed Kudus, who joined Tottenham for a fee of around £55m.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is worried that the Irons may not be using the money they received for Kudus in the best way.

‘West Ham need attacking talent’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Potter shouldn’t be using the funds from the Kudus transfer on a new goalkeeper.
West Ham have been linked with Mads Hermansen from Leicester City, who could be available for a cut price after the Foxes were relegated from the Premier League.
Wyness added that other areas of the Hammers squad are in desperate need of improvement.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We all know that Potter is in a bit of a situation right now with the fan base, and he’s going to need a good start to the season. Signing a goalkeeper isn’t going to send the West Ham faithful dancing in the streets of East London, that’s for sure.
“Is it the right use of the Kudus money? Maybe not. I think you need stronger things in midfield and attack. You’ve got Antonio who has had his operations and all those sort of things. He’s no longer the answer that saved you for many seasons now.
“Kudus was a talent that is going to be missing. I think there are other areas that you might have wanted to address quicker than goalkeeper, but nevertheless Potter is going to have his name on it. I’m questioning West Ham’s strategy at the moment.”

Liverpool and West Ham in crowded race for striker
Meanwhile, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Liverpool and West Ham are among clubs to have made enquiries for Metz sensation Idrissa Gueye.
Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Southampton, and Ipswich have also enquired about the young striker.
The 18-year-old Senegalese forward is one of the hottest properties in Europe and is attracting interest from clubs across all the top leagues.
German duo Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt have shown an interest in the young striker who made 17 Ligue 2 appearances for Metz last season, scoring six times.
