West Ham four-man signing plan revealed – sources

West Ham are eyeing four signings in the first wave of their summer business, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons are preparing to receive a British record £105million windfall from Arsenal for the transfer of captain Declan Rice.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (1 July) that West Ham are ready to reinvest most of the money received for Rice in this summer window.

Manager David Moyes is keen to add two central midfielders in the wake of the England international’s imminent departure.

It is believed a holding midfielder and a more attack-minded player will be targeted by the Irons this summer.

Joao Palhinha remains the top defensive midfield target despite Fulham’s £60million asking price, while Edson Alvarez is also on the radar.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (30 June) that Juventus ace Denis Zakaria is admired by Moyes despite his underwhelming loan spell at Chelsea.

It is believed the Switzerland international is seen as an “attainable target”.

James Ward-Prowse is seen as capable of playing in a more advanced midfield role and is the subject of long-term interest from West Ham.

Meanwhile, Moyes is also keen to add a winger to his squad with the 2023-24 campaign on the horizon.

The Irons have been linked with Leicester’s Harvey Barnes after releasing Manuel Lanzini at the end of his contract.
