West Ham have profited from major injustice as Thilo Kehrer controversy analysed – pundit
Kevin Campbell has slammed the officials for failing to penalise West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer for handball in the build-up to Kurt Zouma’s goal against Bournemouth.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Kehrer, 26, made a “volleyball movement” towards the ball.
Bournemouth were left incensed by the officials decision not to disallow Zouma‘s first-half goal on Monday night (24 October).
VAR official Mike Dean did not adjudge referee David Coote to have made a clear and obvious error at the London Stadium despite a lengthy check.
The decision would ultimately prove decisive with the hosts going on to win the game 2-0.
When asked by Football Insider if Kehrer should have been penalised for handball in the build-up to the goal, Campbell said: “Let’s be honest, that is handball.
“It is that simple.
“Why it was not given I do not know. I do not what handball is anymore.

“If arms are up or outstretched when a player is trying to block the ball, sometimes they are not given. But when a player moves his arm into the ball, almost like a volleyball movement, it has to be a handball.
“For West Ham to score from the resulting melee… It was a blatant handball. Gary O’Neill mentioned that they have had 10 VAR decisions go against them. It is going to turn sometime, Gary. It has got to.”
In other news, a pundit has told West Ham to ‘take the hit’ and accept Nikola Vlasic offer.
