‘West Ham have their own Alexander Isak’ – Fans rave over new striker footage

Graham Potter has his own miniature Alexander Isak at his disposal after West Ham fans reacted to footage on social media.

With Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio both currently sidelined, Graham Potter was forced to bring Brighton’s Evan Ferguson to the London Stadium on loan during the winter transfer window.

The Hammers have often found themselves operating without an out-and-out No.9 in attack, with Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta or Mohammed Kudus through the middle, and Ferguson thrown on as a substitute.

However, those problems might be about the vanish after an incredible youngster gained traction on social media following his goals on Wednesday 5 March.

Graham Potter to call upon West Ham academy stars

Potter has already shown his openness to bring academy stars through to the first team, with Ollie Scarles starting back-to-back games against Arsenal and Leicester City, and doing incredibly well.

Kaelan Casey and Lewis Orford have also been utilised in the senior set-up, though on a much less regular basis, with the manager clearly picking the right time to throw them into the deep end.

While the Hammers’ form has picked up recently, securing two consecutive Premier League wins for the first time since March last season, scoring goals is still not flowing naturally at the London Stadium.

Josh Ajala ready for West Ham first-team opportunities

Josh Ajala, 18, is one of the hottest prospects in the club’s academy and has now been compared to Alexander Isak, who is linked with a big-money move away from Newcastle.

The Swedish international has scored 40 goals across the last two Premier League seasons, which leaves Ajala with massive shoes to fill, but fans are clearly confident of his abilities already.

Several supporters are calling for the young centre-forward to be called up to the first team, potentially replacing Danny Ings, while another has dubbed his actions upon scoring twice “perfection”.

A third labelled the 18-year-old a “genius”, and if he is to live up to the comparison of Isak, he will absolutely need to be if and when Potter finally calls him up to the first team.
