West Ham United have received a timely boost with the news that they are set to welcome back two key players from injury against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Tuesday night, according to a report.
Football.London have confirmed that the club will welcome back Jose Fonte and Michail Antonio for the league clash at the London Stadium.
Fonte has been out of action since October following surgery on an ankle injury while Antonio has been struggling since December with a groin strain.
The Hammers have a lengthy injury list, with the likes of Andy Carroll, Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini all sidelined, so the return to action of their key duo comes just in the nick of time.
Injuries coupled with speculation that forwards Andre Ayew and Javier Hernandez could be on their way out of the club have blighted the east Londoners progress throughout the month of January.
West Ham have risen to 11th place in the league table, four points above the relegation zone, but there is still a long way to go before they can count themselves as safe for another year in the English top flight – the return of the key duo will certainly help matters though.
Antonio’s comeback may also mean that Andre Ayew, who has been hotly linked with a transfer to Swansea City could now go through.
The Swans are understood to be preparing a move a £18m bid for the Hammers forward but with options going forward minimal, David Moyes was not keen on losing any of his attacking options – with Antonio close to full fitness that could change.
