West Ham have entered the hunt to sign West Brom attacker Jay Rodriguez, according to a report.
Sky Sports claims that the Hammers, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Bournemouth are all circling for the 28-year-old after he suffered relegation from the Premier League with the Baggies.
It is understood that it would take a bid of £20million-plus to persuade West Brom to part ways with their centre-forward this summer.
Football Insider verdict:
West Ham need to try make a statement this summer to help them climb up the Premier League table and Rodriguez would be a smart addition at the London Stadium. The versatile attacker appears to got over his injury troubles and impressed in a struggling West Brom side this season. He managed 11 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions and was beginning to rediscover the kind of form that earned him his sole international cap for England back in 2013. Rodriguez would add some extra pace and power to the Hammers frontline, something that they have been missing lately, apart from in talisman Marko Arnautovic. West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini needs to receive the financial backing in the transfer window to make adequate changes and adding a proven Premier League performer in Rodriguez would be a solid start. They also need to ensure that the defence is given a major overhaul and they must fix their problems at the back ASAP.
In other West Ham transfer news, Rangers are plotting a bid to sign an enforcer exiting the London Stadium this summer.
