West Ham manager David Moyes could be ‘in trouble’ with the FA after quotes emerge – pundit

West Ham manager David Moyes could “get in trouble” with the Football Association for his comments about VAR official Simon Hooper.

That is the view of former Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the standard of officiating in the game at Southampton on Sunday (16 October).

Moyes was incensed by the officials performance at St. Mary’s.

The Hammers boss believes his side should have been awarded a penalty when Tomas Soucek was hauled to the ground by Romain Perraurd.

Southampton’s goal was also characterised by controversy after referee Peter Bankes appeared to block off Jarrod Bowen in the build-up.

As quoted by the Daily Mail (16 October), Moyes said “whoever was on VAR needs to go to Specsavers.”

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the decisions in the 1-1 daw, and Moyes’ reaction post-match, Robinson said: “He is probably going to get a punishment from the FA.

“But he was absolutely right, it was a clear penalty. It was a foul inside the box and the decision should have been given.

“Managers have to be careful what they do and say these days.

“I think Moyes will get in trouble for what he said but I completely understand where he is coming from. He was correct in what he said. The way he executed it will probably get him in trouble though.”

In other news, a pundit has issued an ‘incredible’ Gianluca Scamacca verdict as a ‘big’ West Ham prediction made.
