West Ham news: Club set sights on Rangers star Bassey after previous six-figure bid rejected – Sources
West Ham are keeping tabs on Calvin Bassey after losing out to Rangers in 2020, Football Insider has learned.
The 22-year-old, who can play centre-back or left-back, has made a big impression at Ibrox since he quit Leicester City to join them for £300,000.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Bassey is on their radar ahead of the summer as they look to recruit a left-footed defender.

The Irons were in the market for such a profile in January but manager David Moyes ended up saving his kitty for the summer after multiple bids were rejected.
Intriguingly, West Ham had a bid for Bassey rejected in early 2020 as he ran down his Leicester deal.
The powerhouse defender opted to instead take advantage of cross-border rules and sign for Rangers on a four-year contract.
The move has paid dividends for the youngster, who has been a regular starter for the Scottish champions this season.
His 28 appearances this term have been broadly split between centre-back and left-back.
He had an extended run at centre-back alongside Connor Goldson before switching to left-back for Sunday’s 5-0 demolition of Hearts.
Football Insider pundit and former Rangers full-back Alan Hutton is among those who have been immensely impressed by the development of Bassey.

The Glasgow giants have already sold one full-back to an English club this year after Everton signed Nathan Patterson last month for £12m rising to £16m.
Unlike Patterson, Bassey is a key member of the starting XI under both Giovanni van Bronckhorst and ex-boss Steven Gerrard.
