West Ham news: Pundit swipes at Kurt Zouma as controversial new footage emerges
It was “not the best look” for West Ham defender Kurt Zouma to turn up to his court case under a sea of umbrellas and not address the media.
That is the view of ex-Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the situation surrounding the “frustrated” Zouma.
As shown in footage from the Athletic’s Roshane Thomas earlier this week (24 May), the 27-year-old arrived at Magistrates court hidden by umbrellas as photographers were pushed out of the way.
As reported by BBC Sport the same day, Zouma has pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping his pet cat and he will be sentenced at the beginning of June.
The France defender has already been fined £250,000 by West Ham and the money has been distributed to various animal charities.
“He’s probably had enough of it, to be honest.
“Here he is getting dragged into court and he’s probably cheesed off. The season is over now and here he is, getting punished again.
“If you do the crime, you’ve got to do the time and the cameras are going to be in your face.
“He didn’t like it and maybe it wasn’t the best look.
“He’s probably frustrated with himself and the situation anyway.”

Despite the controversy, Zouma retained his place in the West Ham starting XI.
He ended his first season in Claret and Blues with x appearances across all competitions, including 90 minutes in both legs of the defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-final.
