‘West Ham not happy with Graham Potter as new conflict emerges’
Graham Potter endured a chastening start to life at West Ham after replacing sacked boss Julen Lopetegui earlier this year.
The 50-year-old, who had been out of work for nearly two years following his Chelsea sacking, led the Irons to an eventual 14th-place finish in the Premier League.
Potter won just five of 19 games in charge at the London Stadium in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
He signed a contract running until June 2027 upon his arrival at the east London club.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2 004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has revealed the Irons’ hierarchy are already “not happy” with Potter.

West Ham not happy with Potter approach, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed further conflict could emerge in a crucial summer transfer window, as co-owner David Sullivan has historically been heavily involved in pursuing new signings.
Football Insider revealed last month (14 May) that West Ham are preparing for another big overhaul after backing Lopetegui heavily last summer (2024).

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I’m hearing that things are not happy with Potter at West Ham.
“They’re not happy with the way he’s approached the first part of his engagement at the club.
“In terms of the transfer side, David Sullivan and his advisors have always had a big say in the players who come to West Ham.
“I know that was part of the conflict he had with David Moyes during his time at the club.
“So we’ll wait and see what happens with their transfer window this summer.”

West Ham could accept Newcastle’s Kudus bid
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (31 May) that West Ham are ready to accept a bid of between £65-70million for Newcastle target Mohammed Kudus this summer.
It is believed West Ham will be forced to sell players to even the score with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and give Potter the chance to strengthen this summer.
Kudus’ stock has dropped in European football after a below-par 2024-25 campaign which saw him score just five goals across all competitions.
