West Ham owners will ‘accept’ £100m+ Rice bid after confirmed news via Sky – pundit

Declan Rice’s value has soared past the £100million mark following his “exceptional” performances for West Ham this season.

That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former manager David Moyes’ comments about the 22-year-old on Sunday.

The Hammers boss told Sky Sports clubs had the chance to sign Rice for £100m last summer but said “that bargain has now gone.”

However, the centre-midfielder has so far refused to extend his contract at the London Stadium.

It expires in the summer of 2024.

Campbell expects the Irons will sell Rice if an offer of over £100million arrives next year.

“Listen, I know David Moyes and he is a wily old fox,” the ex-Everton striker told Football Insider.

“The way Declan Rice is playing right now, West Ham are well within their rights to demand more than £100million.

“He is an exceptional player, he really is. He is just getting better and better.

“Clubs probably looked at Rice in the summer and thought, ‘£100m? That’s too much.’ But now they will be thinking, ‘Woah, hold on a minute.’

“Let me tell you something, if he was in Man United’s midfield on Sunday, they would never have lost 5-0. No chance.

“The fact of the matter is though, he is a West Ham player.

“I’m sure lots of teams are looking at him. I don’t think Rice will sign an extension though, even if they qualify for the Champions League.

“I think an offer of £100m-plus will be too much for West Ham to turn down. I’m pretty sure they’d accept it.”
