West Ham plan to accept Michail Antonio bid – expert

Michail Antonio could be one of four players that would be allowed the leave West Ham before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hammers striker Frank McAvennie believes the 34-year-old’s time at the club may be over.

It’s been a busy transfer window at West Ham with the club bringing in the likes of Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, and Niclas Fullkrug to east London.

With first-team opportunities under new manager Julen Lopetegui looking unlikely for Antonio, the club may be looking to cash in while they’re still able to get a transfer fee for the striker.

Antonio isn’t the only player who could be shown the exit door at the London Stadium – Danny Ings, Vladimir Coufal, and Tomas Soucek may all be at risk.

With 29 first-team players on their books, West Ham will want to reduce their wage bill before the end of the transfer window.

“I think Antonio, Ings, and Coufal could leave”, McAvennie told Football Insider.

“I think they should get rid of the three of them for the wages.

“I like (Vladimir) Coufal but they’ve got that new boy in from Man United now so he’s going to be second-fiddle and he won’t want to do that.

“And when you talk about (Tomas) Soucek, that’s four players that could go out of the door and leave room for somebody else to come in again.”
