West Ham player ratings v Middlesbrough: Star man 9/10
By Dominic Toner
Football Insider rates the West Ham players after their 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Saturday.
Darren Randolph 6 – Couldn’t do much to prevent a quality team goal by Boro. Made a couple of good saves to keep his side in the lead.
Sam Byram 7 – His return from injury has been a big boost to the side and he provides good width. Supported the attack well and kept his defensive discipline.
Winston Reid 7 – Showed his dominance in the air and is the leader of the West Ham defence, but there were question marks about his positioning for Boro’s goal.
Angelo Ogbonna 6 – The centre-back gave a steady performance, but could be under threat from new signing Jose Fonte for a starting position.

Aaron Cresswell 6 – The left-back got forward well and was one of West Ham’s best attacking outlets.
Mark Noble 6 – He looked comfortable in possession, but was forced off injured in the second-half and it will be a major concern for Slaven Bilic.
Pedro Obiang 5 – The combative midfielder was a bit sloppy compared to his high standards and caught out on a couple of occasions.
Sofiane Feghouli 6 – He Worked hard on the right wing and has begun to settle following a poor start to his Hammers career. Just lacking the final ball in this match.
Manuel Lanzini 8 – His corner was whipped in with great pace to assist Andy Carroll’s header. He found himself in some good spaces, but missed a big chance when he was clear on goal against the goalkeeper. Got a second assist for Jonathan Calleri’s late goal.
Michail Antonio 6 – Should have scored in the opening two minutes, but failed to tap home a cross in the six yard box. Had a big hand in the Hammers’ second goal after his powerful shot was saved.
Andy Carroll 9 – The striker opened the scoring with a fantastic powerful header from a corner. He then doubled his tally with a predatory finish from close-range after Michail Antonio’s shot was only parried.
Edimilson Fernandes (for Noble 54mins) 6
Jonathan Calleri (for Carroll 67mins) 7
James Collins (for Feghouli 83mins) 6
