Kieran Maguire: Kretinsky is ‘power behind the throne’ at West Ham as second major deal on cards
Daniel Kretinsky will likely be the “power behind the throne” at West Ham until he completes a full takeover further down the line.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest changes in the Hammers boardroom.
Companies House documents for West Ham United and WH Holding Limited filed between 12 and 17 November revealed a raft of new hires.

Pavel Horsky, Kretsinky’s right-hand man, has been appointed to the board of directors at WH Holding Limited.
Fellow Czech partners Peter Mitka and Marek Spurny meanwhile have been named on the board at West Ham.
David Sullivan’s son, Jack Sullivan, and David Gold’s son-in-law, Daniel Cunnigham, were also handed executive roles in the reshuffle.
Kretinsky purchased a 27 per cent stake in the Irons earlier this month, and multiple reports suggest he is gearing up for a full takeover.
And Maguire claims that the man dubbed the ‘Czech sphynx’ could buy another swathe of shares in 18 months time.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “There appears to be some sort of gentleman’s agreement that a full takeover will be feasible.
“So it is in the interests of the West Ham board to listen to Kretinsky and his views about the day-to-day running of the club.

“Members of the board could, after all, be selling them some more of their shares in 18 months time.
“So I think he could start to become the power behind the throne, even though David Sullivan is a hands-on owner.”
