West Ham saluted after Angelo Ogbonna offer news – pundit
Alan Hutton has praised West Ham as they are set to activate a 12-month option in Angelo Ogbonna’s contract.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and Scotland right-back claimed West Ham’s actions are why they are such an attractive club to play for.
The defender, who turns 34 in May, is under contract until the end of the season but has not played since suffering an ACL injury in November last year (2021).

The Athletic reported on Monday (18 April) West Ham are expected to trigger an extension in his current deal to keep him at the London Stadium until the summer of 2023.
It is also claimed that they will then enter preliminary talks over a longer deal with Ogbonna’s representatives.
“It’s nice to see them standing by him,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“There are a lot of teams out there that would go ‘Right get yourself back fit and that’s it, we’ll move on’.
“He’s been a good player for them and the timing of the injury was really unfortunate, a nasty one.
“I like the fact they are saying ‘You know what, we’re going to stand by you’. That’s the type of club West Ham are.
“That’s why they attract players because they look after players and this shows that.”

Ogbonna started West Ham’s first 11 Premier League games of the season before his injury.
He has now played over 200 times for the Irons since his £10million move from Juventus almost seven years ago.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has saluted an ‘amazing deal’ as West Ham are set to bag a £2million-a-year boost.
