West Ham name price for wantaway star after league cup incident – reports
Diafra Sakho had a bust-up with David Moyes ahead of West Ham playing Arsenal on Tuesday night, and the club is now willing to accept £15million for the player, according to a report.
The Daily Mail reports that Sakho clashed with Moyes over a £50,000 bonus, which he receives when he plays in the Premier League but not cup games.
The striker featured as a substitute during the Hammer’s 1-0 loss to the Gunners, but was set to start according to the Daily Mail’s report ahead of the bust up.
He has made 14 substitute appearances in the league this season but is yet to make a start and he believes that’s down to the bonus which was put in place after his move to West Brom fell through in the summer.
He only makes half the amount, £25,000, if he makes an appearance from the bench.
The Daily Mirror reports that West Ham have denied any falling out between Sakho and Moyes but the club would be willing to sell the striker for £15million.
Sakho has reportedly made it clear that he wants to leave.
Football Insider Verdict
What a mess, West Ham have once again found themselves in regarding Sakho. The striker publicly revealed he wanted to leave on transfer deadline day in the summer, but his exit fell through. Sakho has once again brought shame upon the club, and the Hammers should be less worried about getting £15million and more concerned about just getting him out the door. The last thing West Ham need is a disruptive presence in the squad while they battle relegation. Whether the bust up is true, is irrelevant, as Sakho is surplus to requirements and if he’s on a deal with that huge a bonus, West Ham would be better off without him.
