Sources: West Ham ready to sell Tomas Soucek after bust-up with David Moyes

West Ham will listen to offers for Tomas Soucek this summer following a falling-out with David Moyes, Football Insider understands.

The Czech midfielder’s future is up in the air with talks over a new contract also stalling.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Soucek’s position is shrouded by uncertainty and that is not just due to negotiations over pay rise and extended deal.

It is believed there has also been tension behind the scenes between the midfielder, 26, and manager Moyes.

There has been a falling-out between the pair even though Soucek has been a virtual untouchable in the team.

West Ham could now have a big decision to make on whether to cash in on the Czech giant this summer or reignite contract talks.

Football Insider revealed earlier this year (11 February) that negotiations had opened over a new deal for the central midfielder.

There has been interest in the midfielder from other clubs, including in the Premier League, and West Ham wanted to tie him down beyond his current terms, which expire in the summer of 2024.

Soucek has been a huge success for the London club since signing in January 2020, initially on a loan deal.

That was subsequently converted into a permanent transfer in the summer of that year for around £15million.

He has been a virtual ever-present in David Moyes’ midfield since his arrival, including the just-completed season in which he made 47 starts among 51 appearances in all competitions.

The aerially dominant central midfielder has been one of the most effective penalty box players in the Premier League since leaving his native Czech Republic.

In total, he has made 105 appearances for West Ham, which have yielded an impressive 19 goals from his defensive midfield role.
