West Ham star Summerville shares Arsenal reason he ‘fell in love with football’
West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville was pictured with an Arsenal Invincible as he lauded the player for playing a key role in his footballing journey.
The former Leeds United forward has been rarely available since Graham Potter took charge at the London Stadium, having suffered a hamstring injury during the managerโs first game.
This has mainly left Jarrod Bowen to carry West Ham forward on the pitch, but with the winger only able to do so much, the Hammers have slipped to 16th in the Premier League table.
While Niclas Fullkrug has finally got his career started, scoring for the Irons against Bournemouth, Potter will be desperate to add a new attacker to the squad, unless Summerville makes a sensational comeback.
Crysencio Summerville takes inspiration from Arsenal legend
Taking to Instagram stories (9 April), Summerville posted a picture of himself with the legendary Thierry Henry, alongside the caption: โOne of the reasons I fell in love with football, TH14.โ
The Gunners forward scored a century of goals for the Premier League side, also starring for Barcelona, New York Red Bulls and the France national team during an illustrious career.

Graham Potter must be ready to shake up West Ham squad this summer
Football Insider verdict
It would be extremely unfair to make a judgment on Summervilleโs future at the London Stadium after a frustrating start with the Hammers, but several players have had their chance to impress and failed.
Guido Rodriguez, Danny Ings and Konsantinos Mavropanos are all ready to be sold by West Ham fans, with the majority frustrated with their teamโs performances on the pitch this season.
The threat of relegation is certainly not felt at the London Stadium with no help from Julen Lopetegui, but it will mean that Potter and his staff can begin planning for the summer transfer window.
Premier League standings | Points |
14. Tottenham | 37 |
15. Everton | 35 |
16. West Ham | 35 |
17. Wolves | 32 |
David Sullivan is unlikely to open his pockets for a second consecutive summer window, meaning that the new boss will need to get rid of several players before he can make signings to suit his style of play.
Max Kilman and Aaron Cresswell have certainly adapted well to the back-five set-up, as has Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but the same cannot be said for the players further up the pitch.
If the former Brighton and Chelsea figure is to succeed with the Irons, he will need free rein over the squad this summer, but that should not include already parting ways with Summerville.
